Emma

I developed EMMA working alonside the Health Protection Agency creating a script that looked at HIV and AIDS.

The hour long musical play looks at the relationship between a group of girls and group of boys.

In this qucik paced comedy, young people's attitude towards the opposite sex is looked at using comic situations and attitudes. It then sets up the story of one young girl who, after just one night of drinking in the park, finds she is HIV positive.

The play then focuses on the attitudes of those around her both in her close friends group and the broader community where she lives then gives the audience the opportunity to ask questions and give opinions whilst learning the true facts about the subject and experiencing how ill informed prejudices can have a dangerous effect on situations.

Emma has played to over one humdered thousand young people over ten years of touring.

The play was extended into a full length piece of theatre and was premiered at the Little Theatre in Birkenhead under the title A Birkenhead Tale. This became A Liverpool Tale and can indeed be changed to an ANYWHERE Tale, for where vere it is performed.
